From the Desk of the Chapter Basileus Cynthia Horner
Welcome to Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.'s Kappa Sigma Chapter website. As the Basileus of the New York City alumnae chapter, I am pleased to be able to introduce you to our chapter, the crown jewel of the Northeast Region. Our chapter is rich with history, and we service the community and the Greater New York City area in many different ways. In addition to forming alliances and partnerships with businesses in the area, we have developed a number of programs including prominent individuals, including Congressman Charles Rangel, singer Marques Houston, model Tocarra, actor Laman Rucker, personal fitness instructor Vince Ferguson, popstar Lumidee, and countless others. We provide mentorship to such neighborhood schools as MS 244, The New School For Leadership and Journalism, The Family Academy, Boys And Girls High School, Wadleigh Secondary School, among others.
